One of my favorite jobs that I easily fallen back into is the role of being a Barista - I just love everything about beverages & community & connection. My first Barista job was in High School and I have no doubts I'll forever be a barista at heart.

I've also been a long time Chico Chai fan & being the daughter of a tea lover (who owned her own tea room - shout out to Elegant Garden and Afternoon Tea in Citrus Heights, California) - its almost a given that I would love Chico Chai... for more than one reason.

I might be a little bias in that they are now also one of my vendor neighbors at the Farmers Market and the owner Sarah is just a genuine sweet soul. It is absolutely delightful to witness grow this business into not only a hugely successful product based business but she recently opened a beautiful curated cafe inside of her new production facility that brings a whole VIBE to Chico, California.

My sibling and I stopped by and tried the valentines day latte & the rose vanilla tea (brewed in a beautiful glass pot and delivered with the tea leaves if you're interested in another pot they'll fill you up with hot water again!)

We also had the bumble bee & masala toasts - of course we shared so we could both try them! Delicious, delicate flavors that are just the perfect treat to accompany thoughtfully curated tea. The masala toast felt like an adult homage to the cinnamon & brown sugar, butter toast we used to make as kids.

A cozy breakfast setup with two speckled white mugs and toast topped with sliced bananas and honey on white plates.

The cafe features locally made baked goods in their pastry case and has hosted a few different pop ups with different vendors, like local favorite - Adrianna's Bakery. In addition, they've got a whole retail section now that features their teas & a special deal for all of us local chai addicts... You get a free cup of tea when you purchase a gallon of concentrate to take home!

HAPPY HOUR ALERT : get $1 off drinks during our last hour of business EVERY DAY! That's HAPPY HOUR from 1pm -2pm Monday - Friday, and 3pm - 4pm Saturday and Sunday. (Excludes their premium tea menu, go to their website to see their full menu and hours as I'm sure they'll fluctuate in time! )

HOSTING : They have offerings for photographers ( let me just tell you, it photographs really well - bright spaces, organic and clean ) and group gatherings, etc. - absolutely reach out to them if you're looking for a space to bring an idea to life! Submit a request here
